New website!

Posted by EagleGuard - February 9th, 2017

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a little project for the last few weeks, and today I can finally reveal that I now officially have my very own website! You can visit it at www.arendvanstenis.com. It includes background information, demos, and everything, so be sure to check it out!

Of course I will still be uploading my stuff to Newgrounds as well :)

Your username reminds me of @EagleRock

Haha, I'll be honest, I didn't even know about that user until you mentioned him! To be fair, though, it's been many years since I came up with this nickname, so I don't think there's much point changing it now.

Ah, nah, not that I think it's unoriginal or anything like that. No sense changing it. Just a happy memory. EagleRock was one of the people I looked up to back in '06. Now seems life's caught up with him and he's hardly, if ever on site. Congrats on the website btw. Running your own is tricky these days in terms of SEO, etc. Easy to make mistakes. I've been designing websites for people for a while now from what my dad taught me while he was alive. You can do a lot of creative things, but maintaining traffic is the tricky part. If you haven't already, you owe it to yourself to start some social media accounts for your site. They really do help, and if you run ads, can sometimes get enough traffic to completely cover your hosting and even make a profit.

Yeah, I noticed the other day he started the "Elite Guard Barracks" thread, pretty cool! I wasn't really active on NG during that time, but it's nice to see his thread still active today.

By the way, thanks for the tips! I've already tried improving the SEO a bit, but I guess it's a gradual process that takes time to fully develop. I don't really expect people to come across my website "out of the blue" much, but I like the idea of having my own little space on the internet that I can share with other people.
